If you currently have the FACEIT client installed please see our forum thread here before performing any of the outlined steps below.
If you are unable to connect to a game server and are getting stuck on the main menu, follow the steps below in order, testing your connection after each step. While troubleshooting your issue be sure to navigate to the server browser of the ESEA client and try connecting to an Aim Map server, and not queuing for matchmaking. This way you can avoid having your server slot expire.
- Make sure you are using a Windows administrator user account. Starting the ESEA Client as admin is not adequate and you must be using a Windows administrator user account.
- Make sure you are starting Steam as admin.
- In order to eliminate the specific game itself from being the culprit. Delete the entire game folder which is normally located at c:/program files/steam/steamapps/common. It is imperative that it is done this way. This will ensure that you have a 100% vanilla install of your game.
- At this point it is a good bet that a security program of yours is, in fact, interfering with the ESEA client even while it is disabled. There is no need to worry as this is very common.
Simply based on how the ESEA client operates many security programs will flag our client as a threat even while disabled.
In order for us to determine without a doubt that a security program (normally anti-virus software) is not interfering with the ESEA client, we will need you to fully uninstall the security programs that you have on your computer (temporarily of course). Sometimes when you add an exception for the ESEA client or have just disabled the software it can still cause an issue just from being on your computer so this step must be completed.
As soon as you have uninstalled all of the security programs, proceed to once again uninstall the ESEA client, download and then install a fresh copy of the ESEA client with zero security software installed this time.
