Players may use multiple accounts, as we understand that players may lose access to their original accounts, may wish to keep statistics separate, etc. However, in general, we would discourage players from having multiple accounts for the following reasons.
If a player is found to be smurfing, defined below, the player's alternate account will be banned. If you are an above-average skill level player creating a new account to pretend that you are brand new to ESEA and/or CS:GO with the intention of misleading the community, your account will be banned for Smurfing and your main account will be issued a ban for Website Abuse.
Please make sure you are following the ESEA League Rules if you are using an alternate account for any reason and competing in the League. The ESEA League has various mechanisms to keep players within the rules. For example, a single player can only join one team per 7 days and will be blocked from doing otherwise. However, by using multiple accounts these will not trigger. As a result, we would recommend not using multiple accounts to play in the ESEA League as it can be easy to accidentally avoid a cooldown with multiple accounts but it is impossible to do so when using a single account.
Players will also not be issued a prize in any prize category where a significant advantage would be gained by starting at a lower PUG rank. It is up to the staff member's discretion which accounts qualify for prizes at the end of the competition period. If in doubt then please make a support ticket. Even in the case where a player is eligible to win a prize, using multiple accounts adds additional complexity when verifying a player's identity when withdrawing a cash prize. This will always delay withdrawing your prize compared to if you had won the prize on a single, main account.
