The Ladder system on ESEA means 24/7 competition in a variety of games and formats. If you missed league registration and want more competition than PUGs or scrims, then ladders are for you.
You can join a ladder either by going here or by simply queuing up through the client. Ladder rankings are updated in real-time, participants are penalized for inactivity, and ESEA points are given out monthly to top teams and players.
Ladders are designed to be simple, and there are only a few restrictions in place in an effort to maintain healthy competition:
- Opponents cannot be rejected or dodged, doing so will result in an automatic forfeit loss.
- Maps are vetoed for. The side you start on is random or decided by a knife round depending on the ladder you signup for.
- A player or team's rank will start to decrease after a period of inactivity to prevent rank "camping". This penalty is used to determine a player or team's rank, and the longer they remain inactive the lower their ranking will go. A player or team's inactivity penalty can be reduced, and their rank restored, simply by playing ladder matches.
- A player or team that has been inactive for 30 days is automatically removed from a ladder.
How do I play in a ladder match?
All you have to do is queue up through the ESEA client and it will find a match for you.
If you are placed on the same team as your opponent please do not disconnect as it may forfeit the match. The system will automatically swap the teams once the match is live.
The first team/player to 16 won rounds will win the match.
