You can participate in events without a team by joining the Event Queue during the Check-in window. When the event starts, we will attempt to automatically match you with other players in the Event Queue.

Q: How do I join the Event Queue?
Visit the event page during the Check-in window and click the JOIN QUEUE button.
Note that you can only join the Event Queue during the check-in window. This is to prevent no-shows, and the button will only be available during this time.
Q: Can I join the Event Queue with friend(s)?
Yes.
Once you join the Event Queue, players can be added to your group by sharing your Group Key, and having them enter this key in the JOIN QUEUE page. Any players in the same group will be placed on the same team, assuming there are other suitable players in the Event Queue to match you with.
Q: When will my team be made and when can I see who I am playing with?
Teams will be created from available players in the Event Queue at the start of the Event, after the Check-in window closes. Visit the Event page after the Check-in window to see if you were successfully matched with other players.
If an attempt to match you with other players has been made, you will either see a success or failure message. Otherwise, matching has not happened so please continue to wait.
Note: this page will also automatically update when matching happens so you do not need to refresh spam.
Q: Am I guaranteed to find a team to play with by using the Event Queue?
No.
While we do our best to match players together to form complete teams, there are situations where this may not be possible. For example, if there are only 4 players remaining in the Event Queue, we will not be able to create a team if the requirement is 5 players.
Q: How do I leave the Event Queue?
After you successfully join the Event Queue, the JOIN QUEUE button will be replaced with a LEAVE QUEUE button.
After we attempt to match players to form complete teams, you will not be able to leave the Event Queue.
